Atharva Veda

Atharva Veda derives its name from Rishi Atharvan who made a significant contribution in composition of Atharva Veda. It is the earliest Indian text dealing with medicine. It contains advanced scientific description of medicines, anatomy and physiology. It outlines a clear germ theory and details various organisms causing different diseases. It describes various poisons that can be used for warfare and also different charms. Besides science and medicine, Atharva Veda also makes some very important and profound philosophical observations
